Center for Listening Research · the program
A small, ongoing set of focused listening assignments. Help us check whether the algorithms agree with how the music actually feels.
The Center for Listening Research builds measurements that try to detect different kinds of "the band has left the song" in jam-band recordings. The metrics flag certain performances as fitting certain patterns. But the metrics are just numbers. We don't know if they agree with how a careful listener actually experiences the music.
This is the listener side of the program. You'll get short, focused assignments — usually 20-45 minutes of listening with focused yes/no/mixed prompts and a sentence or two of notes. Your responses are stored against your account and feed directly into the research analysis.
The program is invite-only for now. If you want in, email zabriskieapp@gmail.com with a sentence about what you listen to and why you'd be interested. We'll send you a code. Already have one? Use it here.
